Fun & Fast Times!
Our first long course meet of the 2012 season was this past weekend at Texas A&M. We had a great meet with fast times, great races and fun had by all. The facility was arguably the best in the state, so it was a privelge to be able to compete there. Our swimmers and parents came prepared with team uniforms and plenty of team spirit. I loved when all the kids were standing around me, cheering their hearts out for their teammates. Even with being the smallest team, we had huge presence with our spirit and our desire to race and win! We were able to not have any disqualifications, as well as no missed events! For 73 of our 74 swims we achieved Personal Bests!! 17 of our 18 swimmers achieving 100% best times. We had 33 heat winning performances and 48 top 3 heat finishes! We also had an overall champion in the girls 8 and under 100m butterfly, Ms. Ada Maria Claudio. And several other top eight finishes from Hayley Stevens and Kaitlyn McDaniel. Our average improvement in the rankings was an amazing 33 places! Our swimmers achieved 16 B, 27 BB, 4 A, and 2 AA National Motivational Time Standards. Two of our 8 year old swimmers already achieving a couple of these time standards! This is a testament to how hard all of the kids are working and that all their hard work does not go unnoticed or without reward. I could not be prouder of our swims or our overall meet performance. It means the world to me to watch the kids succeed and have such passion about swimming. Thank you parents and swimmers again for an incredible weekend. I am looking forward to the May meet for a repeat of stellar performance in the pool. Keep up the hard work and dedication!
